Heraldry: Basics  

 

Use one of these blanks in paint, to  design your shield as you go along.

First choose the colours that you intend to have in your Coat of Armes.  Check the link out  because there are rules that you should follow.

The you have to decide whether to divide the field or not.

After that you can decide to use an ordinary or not. 

After that you can place any charges you want.

If you have been award a battle honour you might choose to add a border or honour charges.

And if you are of knightly or noble status you may display a crest above your coat of armes.

And lastly -  you may add a motto if  you  choose to.
