Bime

The town of Bime occupies the thin strip of land the separates the Great Lake from the sea, and controls a narrow area of land to the east and a larger area to the west of the town. The land areas are bordered by mountains, the sea or the Great Lake on all sides.

Bime was one of the areas occupied by the Grand Caliph's forces when they occupied the eastern reaches of the Old Kingdom of Hann, but managed to retain much of its original character. Many Zacharans married into local families and when the occupation forces were finally driven away decided to stay. The town today has a strange feeling, Zacharan and traditional western buildings, crafts and styles sit comfortably next to each other, the main language is the Norse common to the area, but a surprising number of the population speak Midani. The outlying areas were caught up in Kane's war, but the town itself was left practically unscathed, although it acted as a clearing center for refugees emigrating from the other Great Lake States.
