The Academy is the only place in the Great Lake States, that formally teaches the magical arts. It was started nearly 30 years ago by Abberan Micklethwaite, but was bought out by Megbar about 15 years ago. It is housed in a triangular tower close to the Great Lake shore in Bime.

Megbar pursues a fairly quiet life researching and teaching his students. It is rumored that he will under take commissioned research or will make magical items for clients in very special circumstances The rumors have it that his prices are high, a donation of 5000gp may buy an apprenticeship, commissioned research is even more expensive.

Members of The Academy tend to keep themselves to themselves, but the status that The Academy brings to the town tens to outweigh that.
