Religion

The residents of Porter's Bar worship their own pantheon of gods. The primary god, and patron of Porter's Bar is Arth, accredited with saving the original people of this area from the ravages of the 'Fire time' in days of yore. They recognise Yamara, architect of the fire time, as the guardian of the dead - and Shan as the god of the Sea and winds. All three haves temples within the city walls.

They also recognise a trilogy of nature gods Earth, Sun and Moon - who are all siblings - as guardians of the natural word. These three are worshiped together in one religious complex situated outside the city. Those who live off of the land, of who gather the fruits of sea or swamp tend to make regular sacrifices to this group of gods.

The final aspect of the pantheon is ancestor worship. Although all ancestors are honoured within the cult, worship is primarily directed towards Han and Lei Shay, who were instrumental in founding the city. Many peoples have small shrines in their own houses to honour their own ancestors, although the primary temple is in the royal palace and is dedicated to the royal ancestors.
