City Hall

The Porter's Bar City Hall is an impressive 3-storey building, situated in the Administrative District, up by the Citadel, it has white stone walls and a covered stone walkway in front of it. As you walk up the broad steps, and walk through the large iron studded doors, you enter the main reception chamber. This room is dressed in white marble and is decorated with hangings showing the founding of the city and other great civic events, and is patrolled by two members of the City Watch. There is a large stone staircase leading to the upper floor and two doorways leading to other parts of this floor.

In the center of the main reception is a stone desk with a reception clerk, and everybody is expected to report to the receptionist as they enter. There are normally one or two messengers at the desk, who will relay messages to councilors and staff, on behalf of visitors. There are also 4 large stone benches where visitors can wait for their appointments.

The left-hand door leads to the general offices and there are rooms there for the clerks and officers who keep the City Hall functioning properly. The right hand door leads to a dining room, bar and social lounge for the members and staff.

The stairs lead to the second floor antechamber, and a set of impressively decorated doors lead into the council chamber itself. The main chamber is two stories high and is again dressed in marble and is extensively decorated. This time the crest of all the individual councilors, their guilds or deity, and the City Coat of Arms takes precedence in the decorating scheme.

A solid oak central table has seats for each of the councilors, and there is a small table behind each seat for the councilor's clerk. A larger chair, reserved for the Princess Alicia, takes pride of place in the middle of one side of the table.

Smaller doors lead from each side of the antechamber to corridors leading to offices for each of the councilors. There are three spare places at the council table and three spare offices.
