Music ..

Small drums, similar to Bongos or a tabor, made from swamp Apple wood covered with hide skins and bone flutes or reeds pipes are the most common instruments of porter's bar music.

Less common is a simple 5 string, plucked zither which is played while seated.

More sophisticated stringed instruments, such as the Lute and the Mandolin are imported from overseas but are more expensive. Bronze straight horns are also imported from Baraduum, but have a limited range, - they are often used to provide 'bass' support for larger musical combinations.

A simple straight horn only capable of simple tunes - The note is deeper than the flute or pipes and it is generally used in combination with other instruments to supplement the Rhythm.

Solo Musician/entertainers
The best will have a Lute or Mandolin and will accompany then selves when singing. Less serious (or more traditional) musicians will probably have a Zither. The Bone Flute is the only other instrument played solo - and that precludes any singing.

Duos
The most common duos perform with either pipes or flute accompanied by a drum. The drummer may sing. Pipes and tabor are most common, but more complex tunes are possible with a flute.

Trios
Not quite as common, Trios will generally have a zither playing the melody, and be supported by reed pipes and a drum for Rhythm. Drummer or zither player can sing.

Larger bands
Much less common groups or small orchestras have a 'lead' section of a stringed instrument and a Flute, while rhythm cam be provided by either a Straight Horn or Pan pipes. There will also be a drummer possibly 2.
