Money

Porters Bar mints a small amount of money of its own.  The  most common coinage is the Copper Penny made with copper from Baraduum.  A small amount of silver is used to mint the Silver Shilling  and the Gold Guinea, also made from imported gold, is even rarer.  While  each  coin  bears  a specific name – they are generally  referred to  as  Coppers, Silvers and  Golds …..

Each Porter's Bar coin  has a dragon stamped on the front and a cross  on the back, so that the coin can be  cut into  4  quarters if  required.

Larger value transactions, however, are normally handled with state or personal credit notes drawn on various money lenders.

As Porter's Bar is a major trade port, most traders/merchants will take any currency.  However, they  have a good understanding of  the value of different currencies  and will always  strike a good deal.  (they will take most  currencies at  about 75% of their face  value)
