Squires are the most junior title-holders recognised by the Raven King of Armes. S/he might be an apprentice Knight or simply an individual worthy of respect, and the children of Knights and non-hereditary nobles are also given this title. Squires may fly coloured ribbons, in the colours of their order from their lance or flagpole, and vote in elections. They are entitled to be called 'The Honourable Mr Smith' and are often called 'Yer Honour' by the commons.

Knights Bachelor are the first tier of knights. They often don’t hold landed titles and are found as military or sea captains, or in some other position of authority. Still others are found in the ranks of the "Chaptered Orders" or serving as warriors or guides for rulers or nobles. Also known as a One Point Knight, he is allowed to fly a single tailed pennon and vote in elections. S/he and is entitled to be called Sir Richard or Dame Judy, although the commons often just call them 'Sir' or 'Ma'am'.

Knights Superior hold land related titles directly from a ruler or a noble, normally either as Warder or Reeve. Also known as a Two Point Knight he is allowed to fly a Pennon with two tails and vote in elections. S/he and is entitled to be called Sir Richard or Dame Judy, although the commons often just call them 'Sir' or 'Ma'am'.

Like nobles all Chivalrics are expected to defend their homes and countries if required. The equipment they are required to own varies from order to order, and will also depend on the individual's class.

Squires might be expected to own a horse medium armour and a side arm and be accompanied by a group of footmen. In a marine area he might be expected to own a boat which he can crew with marines. A mage might be expected to provide her own body guard of 6 men-at-arms.

Knights Bachelor might be expected to own a war-horse, heavy armour and a lance, or possibly war-horse light armour and a short bow. In marine area he could own a small ship, or perhaps a large boat, that is filled with fighting sailors. Mages might be expected to have a war-horse and a troop of sergeants-at-arms to defend them.

Knights Superior are generally expected to slightly better equipped than Knights bachelor.

The following table shows the retinue that each rank might be expected to contribute in times of war and when the homeland is defended.
