The New Forest

This time we stayed at a campsite called Roundhill,  that is run by Forest Holidays on behalf of the Forestry Commission. It is right in the middle of the forest,   you camp inbetween gorse bushes and scrub, ponies wander arouind the site, and you can walk straight into the forest.  The facilities aren't the best, they have private  washbasins instead of shower cubicles, but the washroom and toilets were always clean.  However, the weekend we went, it rained - and rained big time.  The first day we finished up in shops and finally down by the beach, in the car, reading and snoozing.

It was a bit better  on the Sunday, it was very over cast but at least it didn't rain.  We finished up at the New Forest Otter, Owl and Wildlife Park, near Marchwood.  Did I tell you we keep forgettinbg to take pictures?  well we got one of som e Otters, one of a Deer and a couple of Wild Boar.  Thats about it.

However, we did have a brilliant meal in an Indian restaurant in Lyndhurst.  Its the restaurant by the main traffic lights on the road towards Southampton.  Highly recommended, if you are down that way.
