Easter 2005

We  went to Cornwall for a long weekend. We set on Friday morning and took a fairly leisurely drive down to St Ives, which is a really beautiful town  on the North coast right down by the tip of Cornwall.  The first picture is the view we got from  our room, but then -  the Cornish coast is always impressive. Its a place I would like to live :)

Mind you -  its  windy enough down there that they have wind farms.  Although I find watching the turbine blades  turning fairly relaxing.  I know some people hate them -  but I  quite like them.

On Saturday we visited Tintagel -  which is an old headland castle which is slowly falling into the sea.  it is  reputed to be the birth place of King Arthur  (he of the legends) -  and it is a very atmospheric place,  On the way into the village  we saw a troop of traditional Morris Dancers.

Then on Sunday we came home -  stopping off at Lyme Regis on the way.  As we were walking along the beach promenade we saw a helicopter lifting someone off of the beach.  we never did find out what it was all about.
